Korea Midland Power installs 15 path ZoloBOSS system at Boryeong Thermal Power Plant

BOULDER, Colorado– March 30, 2009 –Korea Midland Power has chosen the laser-based ZoloBOSS system to monitor in-situ combustion constituents in 500MWe Boryeong Thermal Power Plant unit 2. A dense 7 x 8 grid will provide a particularly detailed map of combustion constituents and point plant engineers and operators to subtle imbalances all in real-time.

The plant expects to improve performance to reduce emissions and fuel costs, and also to manage and avoid slag and fouling resulting from their regularly changing fuels. This installation represents the third installation of a ZoloBOSS system in Korea. “Each market has a different regulatory and operating environment,” Henrik Hofvander, Zolo Technologies CEO said, “It’s gratifying to see that balancing combustion is important in so many different applications.”
Over the next few years, Boryeong Thermal Power Plant will extend their solution to other units operating at the station and expects to be able to integrate ZoloBOSS data into their control system in the near future.
